The Taiwan-based company Tools to Liveby originally began as a reseller of stationery goods to brands around the world. In recent years they have created their own line of products that includes, among other things, bags, fountain pens and staples. The first patent for a folded wire staple was awarded in the United States to Samuel B. Fay in 1867. Tools to Liveby staples are made of brass wire and are based on patents from the late 19th and early 20th century. There are classics like the Niagara (1897), the Ideal (1902) and Owl (1908). Tools to Liveby has improved the designs and reproduced six shapes. The staples are packed in beautiful retro-style boxes with ten staples each.
