Ghosts & Spirits of Japan - Don't cross the red bridge

Exhibition extended until April 23, 2023 A new immersive exhibition to discover the imagination of Benjamin Lacombe, inspired by his books "Ghost Stories of Japan" and "Spirits and Creatures of Japan", published in Italy by L'ippocampo Edizioni "Botteghe di Tokyo - The Exhibition" was a great success, hosting more than 125,000 visitors in five consecutive months of opening, from the beginning of 2022. Having concluded this experience, TENOHA Milano and L'ippocampo Edizioni renew the partnership for a new, magical immersive exhibition which will be inaugurated on September 9th at the TENOHA Milan spaces, the first Japanese concept store in Europe, located between the Navigli and the Darsena, in the heart of the city. "Ghosts and Spirits of Japan - Don't Cross the Red Bridge" will give visitors a unique experience, thanks to a multi-sensory journey in which the spirits and creatures of Japan come to life. A journey full of Japanese folklore inspired by traditional legends transcribed by Lafcadio Hearn and visually told by Benjamin Lacombe, whose illustrations will transport patrons beyond the red bridge that connects the mortal world to the otherworldly one. The artist's unmistakable style gives life to the famous yokai, supernatural creatures that can take on the most diverse appearances and characters, from the kappa to the faceless woman, passing through the kitsune and the kodama. An expression of Japanese animism, in the West they are identified as "monsters" or "ghosts", but in reality they escape any definition. To get to know them and meet them in person, just visit the exhibition, which will develop in a 1100m2 space with over 10 themed rooms, where tradition meets technological innovation full of animations, audio, scenography, 3D and video. With this new project TENOHA Milan aims at immersive entertainment with its TENOHA Exhibition division, welcoming the public to an area of Milan that is increasingly attentive to cultural entertainment and linked to the world of events. The aim is to raise awareness of Japanese culture with its many facets through themed initiatives and projects, which have always been fascinating and mysterious thanks to a thousand-year past of history and traditions and a present rich in technology and innovation.

Tickets for 'Ghosts and Spirits of Japan – Don't cross the red bridge' are available on the ghosts.tenoha.it website and in all Vivaticket sales points and online. After great demand, TENOHA Milan and L'ippocampo are extending the Ghosts & Spirits of Japan exhibition, where Benjamin Lacombe's fantastic creatures will be held until April 23rd!
