The Sword of Sanada is the second volume of the Chronicles of the Maple and the Cherry Tree, the ambitious Japanese tetralogy by Camille Monceaux, which began with The Mask of Noh.

The author takes the young reader back to this remote era, as fascinating as it is exciting. Ichirō laboriously managed to escape from Edo, but he is broken: Hiinahime's disappearance has devastated him and now he finds himself having to start from scratch again.
