Yukisato single grain whisky
Nikka Whiskey is a Japanese whiskey and alcoholic beverage company, headquartered in Tokyo. The founder, Masataka Taketsuru, traveled to Scotland in 1918 to learn about the whiskey distillation process. He studied organic chemistry at the University of Glasgow and whiskey malt production at the Hazelburn distilleries near Fort William in the Highlands. He married a Scottish woman and returned to Japan in 1920. In 1934 he founded the Nikka distilleries. The company is currently owned by Asahi Breweries.
